FAQ

Please review the FAQs below. These represent the most common inquiries from new clients. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact me and I’ll be happy to help

Do you offer consultation?

Yes! I offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation. This is a no-pressure way for us to meet, briefly discuss your goals, and see if we’re a good match. It's also a good time to discuss your level of interest in my outdoor/experiential work. Contact to schedule!

Do you take insurance?

I accept private pay (and the following insurances, now!) AETNA, Cigna, Community Health Plan of Washington, Kaiser, Molina, Premera Blue Cross & Regence BlueShield.

What are your fees?

My session fee varies for individual therapy per 55-minute session, but the standard rate is $165. Extended adventure sessions are $190, and only available through private pay. I have a sliding scale based on income, and offer limited spots. Inquire for more details. I can also provide superbills for potential reimbursement from your insurance company. Fees are payable at the time of each session. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

Where do sessions happen?

We have options! We can meet at my office in Fairhaven,  virtually via a secure video platform, or for outside and walk-and-talk, local parks and trails around Bellingham.

What's your cancellation policy?

Please remember to cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance. Cancellations and re-scheduled session will be subject to a charge if NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. Rescheduling is always prioritized and preferable.

What is Adventure Therapy

“The prescriptive use of adventure experiences provided by mental health professionals, often conducted in natural settings that kinesthetically engage clients on cognitive, affective, and behavioral levels” (The Association for Experiential Education).Ask me about what that can mean for our sessions!
