Welcome to my blog!

Starting counseling can feel like a big step, especially in a place like Bellingham, Washington, where the pace of life, connection to nature, and strong community values matter deeply. If you’re searching for a Bellingham counselor for yourself, your teen, or as a college student, my hope is that this space feels grounded, supportive, and human.

I offer in-person counseling in Bellingham, WA for teens, college students, and adults. I specialize in experiential and nature-based therapy, supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, academic stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions common in the Pacific Northwest.

Many of the clients I work with attend Western Washington University (WWU), Whatcom Community College, or are young adults adjusting to life, school, or work in Whatcom County. Others are local teens and adults seeking counseling that feels relational, practical, and connected to nature.

My Approach

I practice from a humanistic, person-centered place, meaning our work together is collaborative, compassionate, and paced with care. I see you as the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you deepen self-understanding, build effective coping tools, and reconnect with your inherent strengths.

Many clients in Bellingham are drawn to an integrative style that honors both mind and body, especially given our access to natural spaces. My approach may include:

  • Experiential and adventure-based counseling

  • Nature-based and outdoor therapy sessions (parks, trails, and green spaces)

  • Mindfulness and somatic awareness

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Creative and reflective practices

For some, stepping outside, into a forest trail, waterfront path, or quiet outdoor space, creates room to breathe, regulate emotions, and gain perspective. For others, indoor sessions feel more supportive. We’ll work together to find what best fits your needs from the beginning.

Who I Work With

I support:

  • Teens navigating identity development, emotional regulation, school stress, and peer relationships

  • College students coping with academic pressure, transitions, anxiety, burnout, and questions of purpose or direction

  • Adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges

I also work with highly sensitive people and those who feel deeply affected by the seasons or their environments, relationships, or inner experiences, something many people in the Pacific Northwest resonate with.

What Sessions Are Like

Sessions are intentional but flexible. Some days may involve talking things through; other days may focus on skill-building, reflection, or experiential exercises. With teens and college students especially, sessions are collaborative and practical, supporting both emotional insight and real-world coping skills.

Above all, I aim to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and accepted, without judgment or pressure to label or “fix” yourself.
